Are you looking for fun science activities and ideas that are great for tweens? My daughter Jewel has just turned 10, so this is the age group we’ll be catering for over the next few years. She’s not ready for high school science yet, but there’s still lots of fun things we can try, that have that ‘cool tween’ factor.

We’ll be adding more ideas as we go, so be sure to bookmark this page (or subscribe) to keep up with the latest.

One thing Jewel’s really into at the moment is cooking, and of course, cooking involves loads of opportunities to explore chemistry in a very tasty way! So if you’re looking for something delicious to tempt your tween with, you could try checking out our edible science experiments page. It does include some activities we did when my kids were younger, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be cool for tweens to try too. (They probably could do most of the steps by themselves, with less parental involvement…)

But anyhoo, not to delay, here are our cool science ideas for tweens!

Not enough? Want even, EVEN more ideas

We do have 100+ science activity ideas on our Fun Science for 7-9 Year Olds page. Many of these activities can be tweaked to make them appropriate for tweens as well.

You can also find lots of cool science-related pins on my Fun Science for Kids and STEM for Girls Pinterest boards.
