Experiential Science Gifts

Or would you consider giving an experiential gift? In the clutter that is our daily lives, an experience over another ‘thing’ might be appreciated. Plus, it’s a gift idea that’s easy to post!

Most museums, zoos, etc offer annual family membership packages, which is a gift that can be enjoyed all year round. We’ve found that our kids learn so much more when they revisit places they’ve already been to. The second (and third) time they visit, they develop familiarity with the layout, go a little slower, ask a few more questions, become fascinated with one particular aspect, and really deepen their understanding of a topic area.

I’ve listed below our reviews of several science venues we’ve visited, or are members of, in Australia. Perhaps there are similar venues near where you live?

DIY Science Kits and Home Lab Supplies

Another idea is to put together a little DIY science kit – it’s on my to-do list to organise one for you, but in the meantime you could put one together using our home science lab supplies recommendations. You could package these items up nicely with a little basket and ribbon. Be sure to let them know some of our activity suggestions to go along with the items too!
